What a mind blowing trip to Inukjuak, Quebec with Quebec Roots.

First, it was bone piercingly cold. Which is unsurprising, given that this Inuit village is a stone’s throw from the North Pole… or to be more specific…. wayyyyyyy up there in Northern Quebec.

Second, this was the very village where Nanook of the North was filmed, a one of the first documentary films ever made. I loved this film when I saw it– never dreaming that 20 years later, I would visit the village, and teach photography workshops to the descendants of the people in that very film (!!!!!!)
